DeFi Visa Signature · Club-Based
Best for: Crypto-native users who want a DeFi-integrated card with loyalty tiers, Vault integration, and the option to spend directly or borrow against assets.
ether.fi Cash is not just another crypto card. It is a club-based DeFi card built on Visa Signature, with a membership progression system, dual spending modes (Direct Pay and Borrow), and cashback paid in wETH. The card integrates deeply with ether.fi's Vault ecosystem.
Entry level. Basic card access. Plastic card. Lower cashback rates. 1 free physical card.
Enhanced cashback. More virtual card slots. Better referral rewards. Premium card material.
Strong cashback tiers. Multiple free physical cards. Increased virtual capacity. Airport benefits.
Highest cashback. Maximum card capacity. Full Visa Signature perks. Companion and lounge benefits.
Cashback is not a single flat rate. It depends on membership level, monthly spend band, and currency. Ranges from roughly 3% down to 0.5%. EUR purchases have adjusted cashback due to the 0% EUR FX feature. Cashback is credited in wETH. Some transaction types (ATM, cash-equivalent) are excluded.
General FX rate is 1% across tiers. EUR purchases have a special 0% FX markup — a significant benefit for Europe-based nomads. Always choose local EUR billing to avoid DCC issues.
Direct Pay: Spend eligible Vault assets directly. Straightforward — no borrowing charges. Best for simple crypto spending.
Borrow Mode: Use assets as collateral and spend without selling. Interest applies immediately at ~4% APY with no grace period. Collateral value and liquidation risk matter. For intentional borrowers, not casual users.
KYC required. Core membership cards require a $40 refundable deposit (refundable if upgraded within the allowed period). Card material varies by tier (plastic to metal). Shipping region support is broad but not universal.
All cardholders get Visa Signature benefits: concierge service, airport companion/lounge access, price protection, purchase protection, extended warranty, auto rental insurance, and Visa Luxury Hotel Collection access.
ether.fi Cash is the most feature-rich DeFi card on this list, but also the most complex. The membership progression, borrow mode, and collateral logic make it unsuitable for casual travelers. Best for users already embedded in the ether.fi ecosystem who want their DeFi position to power real-world spending.
